The lulo is also known as naranjilla, due to the similarity that the Spanish found with the orange. This tropical fruit is very delicate and highly perishable. Its interior is full of small edible seeds.
CULINARY USES
It can be taken alone, blended and sweetened to serve with water and ice or prepare sauces with it to accompany meat dishes, such as chicken thighs in lulo sauce, a typical dish of the Cauca Valley.
