With red and purple skin, the interior is wine-colored and its pulp is white. Its flavor is honeyed, sweet, a mix between peach and raspberry, although it is also compared to the bittersweet flavor of plums or grapes.
CULINARY USES
They are usually eaten fresh as table fruit. To prepare them, you only have to cut half of the crust, remove it and use the mangosteen itself as a container, using a fork to eat the pulp.
